CLOUD ACCELERATION

Setting an overall business strategy

Building a pragmatic cloud strategy
Digital business and the cloud are becoming intimately linked but are generating a complex paradigm: that of opening up IS and networks more and more to the outside world and therefore making them potentially more vulnerable, even though the volume of data is constantly growing and its value increases tenfold (customer knowledge, payment, regulatory, etc.).

The cloud must be seen as a very different value proposition for each company with a specific context and organisation. A But going beyond the complex issues of public, private, dedicated, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, serverless, American public or sovereign clouds requires us to remain pragmatic: should we go or not?

Making the most of innovation and protecting information assets at the right level

Let's see the glass as half full and make this diversity a richness, an opportunity to build a cloud strategy precisely adapted to the needs and risks of each organisation.
Let's always keep in mind to take the best of innovation, of technologies, but let's keep our heads and protect - at the right level - the informational assets (the data) and the business primacy of all.
The question that arises is therefore: how to understand the "cloud strategy"? Because it is clear that it cannot be understood according to the same criteria as "on prem".

What approach to take? What pitfalls to avoid? And how to structure the approach?

We cannot ignore the question of the data itself and its integrity. Are all data equally important, do they require the same protection? And its immediate corollary: should we have the same answer from the cloud, from the provider, whoever it may be? No, of course not.The cloud is already present, to a greater or lesser extent, through solutions put in place for this or that use, in this case outsourced payroll, in that case marketing automation, in another case an iOT production line .... While  not focusing  on the issue of trust, let's be fully aware that no security solution today entails zero risk.

The challenge is to define a pragmatic, adapted, scalable and secure Cloud strategy.

Define the strategic framework, benefit from a documented benchmark and define - in an informed way - the loss of data that can be accepted (RPO), and the duration to restart a service. Yes, data is the main catalyst, but the ability to deploy, or redeploy, new technologies with agility is crucial when digital disruption drives companies to transform themselves if they want to remain competitive.Defining a cloud strategy is a project, for which it is necessary to identify current and future needs in terms of the benefits  and drawbacks for the company
