Data cloud consulting and digital transformation - Micropole

An industrial giant calls on Micropole for its data transformation and migration to the cloud

Present in over 80 countries worldwide, our customer is a major player in the industrial gases sector. Specialized in the production and distribution of technical, medical and industrial gases, it offers a wide range of solutions for a variety of sectors, including health, energy, aeronautics, chemicals and food.

Context

Micropole's teams and its AWS Center of Excellence supported our industrial customer in the implementation of a unified and versatile data platform, specifically designed to consolidate and centralize its healthcare data. This initiative aimed to improve the company's commercial and operational efficiency, by leveraging the advanced capabilities of the AWS cloud solution.

The platform enables the company to collect, store and analyze data from a variety of sources, ensuring more consistent and efficient information management. By centralizing this data on a flexible and scalable cloud infrastructure, Micropole has enabled our customer to improve its analytical capabilities, optimize its decision-making processes and gain in agility. The platform also facilitates strategic decision-making based on high-quality, up-to-date and accurate data, helping to improve the company's commercial and operational efficiency, while meeting compliance and security requirements linked to healthcare data.

Issues

The company, which specializes in home delivery of medical equipment, expressed the need to consolidate all its data in a centralized location, while aligning it with its business model to facilitate access and exploitation. The aim: to make this data available to users and applications via a variety of mechanisms, thus guaranteeing a fluid and secure flow of information across the various services.

At the same time, our customer wants to gain real-time insight into its data by processing and analyzing it using Machine Learning algorithms , in order to create new sources of value and monetize this data.

While improving agility and time-to-market are crucial to the project's success, compliance with HDS (Healthcare Data Hosting) regulations remains an unavoidable imperative. Indeed, the management and protection of personal health data, which is at the heart of our customer's business, must strictly comply with current security and confidentiality standards.

Solutions

  • Micropole proposed using the Cloud, and more specifically AWS Managed Services, to meet the project's requirements for speed and agility. AWS, being HDS (Healthcare Data Hosting) certified, offers a secure infrastructure that complies with regulatory standards for healthcare data management. Micropole has put in place the necessary data governance mechanisms to ensure that all aspects of data security and confidentiality are scrupulously respected.
  • For the deployment of AWS services, Micropole used its reference architecture, which is based on best practices and aligned with AWS Well-Architected principles. This architecture enables rapid deployment of a modern, versatile Data Platform, capable of meeting integration, analysis and data management needs in a flexible, scalable way.
  • The Data Vault methodology was chosen to integrate and unify data. It supports a robust approach to data governance while meeting compliance requirements. In parallel, a DevOps approach was adopted to efficiently deploy all components in production environments, managed by a third party, in line with the strict requirements of the HDS regulation.

Discover below the technical architecture developed and composed of generic modules, designed to easily collect, integrate and share data. It offers a turnkey solution for centralizing data and enabling optimal exploitation, while guaranteeing the security and conformity of processed information.
