DAY 1
Generative AI: beyond the buzz?
This year, the debate aroundgenerative AI takes on a new dimension: what is its real impact? We seem to be past the peak of thehype cycle, and solutions like Amazon Q and Amazon Bedrock are reaching maturity. Real-life use cases are now at the heart of discussions, with a clear objective: to improve personal and business productivity, while respecting security and compliance constraints.
Public clouds and their ROI in question
The cost of the cloud remains a hot topic. With the Cloud Value Framework, AWS proposes to measure the value created using a Balanced Score Card approach. A fine initiative to answer questions about TCO and return on investment.
Sustainability and digital sobriety: an imperative
Last year, Werner Vogels introduced the concept of the "frugal architect". In 2024, sustainability is omnipresent: good practices to reduce carbon footprints are more necessary than ever. In Europe, with the CSRDthese issues are unavoidable.
With 60,000 attendees, re:Invent is a truly global showcase for the latest technologies. Meanwhile, Europe is still lagging behind in the cloud and AI race. When are we going to create our champions? It's time to act to preserve our technological sovereignty.
Tomorrow's keynote by Matt Garman, CEO of AWS, will give us a clearer idea of what's new. To be continued...
and associate them with data objects (Assets) and/or their attributes. This is a welcome initiative because it interfaces natively with the main AWS data services (S3, Redshift, Aurora, etc.) and thus greatly simplifies the creation and maintenance of a data portal. It would be interesting to see the upcoming integration with AWS Macie, a service that can automatically detect the sensitivity of analyzed data stored on S3. To be continued...
