Levallois-Perret, May 12, 2022. Micropole, an international consulting and innovative technologies group specializing in Data, Cloud & Digital, reported first-quarter 2022 sales of 33.5 million euros, up 11.8% on the 29.9 million euros reported for the same period in 2021. On a like-for-like basis, sales were up 10.5%. First-quarter 2021 sales were still affected by the health crisis, resulting in a favorable base effect. This sales trend for the first quarter of 2022 confirms a return to sustained growth.
Sustained growth
Business in the Benelux countries continues to make a significant contribution to the Group's momentum, with an excellent performance (+22.5%), driven by the success of our Cloud offerings and by business in Luxembourg following the acquisition of Tomorrow Services in mid-March 2021. Organic growth amounted to 10.7%.
Sales in Switzerland also grew strongly, by 24.3% (18% currency-adjusted). In France, sales grew organically by 7.5%, with very strong momentum in data and cyber security, and more moderate growth in digital and in the Regions.
The Group's strategy of increasing added value is being confirmed, with a further rise in its ARR this quarter (+1.6%). The activity rate is not yet optimal this quarter, despite a notable strain on resources with a resumption of turnover and recurring recruitment difficulties.
Business outlook
The Group has not yet observed any direct effect of the Ukrainian crisis on its business, but remains very attentive to the potential consequences of this event on the international economy.
In these uncertain times, Micropole is maintaining its medium-term ambitions, particularly in terms of profitability, and remains confident about the future development of the markets in which the Group is positioned.
The next financial meeting will take place on Thursday, July 28, 2022, for the publication of 2nd quarter 2022 sales.
