Micropole launches Data Thinking to partner enterprises in their data driven transformation

A new approach which transforms the way of thinking about and processing data subjects

Levallois-Perret, February 6th 2020. Micropole, an international consulting and innovative technology Group, specialized in Data & Digital Experience, launches Data Thinking, a new approach which radically transforms the ways corporations think about and process data subjects.

While all companies have data-related transformation projects, few have any which are implemented with an ongoing and sustainable vision within their organization. Whereas 29% of enterprises consider that they are in a position to succeed in their data driven transformation, only 74% hope to do this*. However, the flood of data is ever-accelerating.

Taking up the data driven transformation challenge

Data, when well-used, constitutes a true asset for a corporation. It generates the most value for enterprises when it is considered in a cross-cutting way throughout the organization as a whole. With its Data Thinking approach, Micropole de-partitions the issues already encountered in the different business and IT projects and structures corporate transformation. Reconciling both short and long-term objectives to meet the user needs, this operational and strategic approach has many advantages:

  • The definition of an overall vision
  • Maximum reactivity leading to increased satisfaction of the data user
  • The capability of reuniting all necessary and related skills (customer, data, marketing, R&D, prototypist, etc.) within a short time-frame
  • Fast materialization of projects to test the result and obtain feedback
  • Moving forward and making the enterprise more intelligent and high-performing in its use of data by learning from mistakes

A cross-cutting approach per use case

The main challenge to be faced is that of data usages and its consideration in cross-cutting terms within the enterprise. If we observe the characteristics of data driven transformation projects which have successfully delivered value, we notice that most of these projects have been carefully thought-out, guided and implemented via a use-case geared approach.

« The groundwork on data cannot be viewed as a simple succession of projects, whether it be in terms of reporting, business intelligence, data visualization, artificial intelligence or machine learning. It is all about ongoing investment, constantly creating more richness which must be leveraged with creativity, discipline and perseverance », explains Christian Poyau, CEO of the Micropole Group.

A holistic vision of the data issue

Based on techniques derived from Design Thinking and applied to various data fields (Data Science, Data Governance, etc.), Data Thinking brings a holistic vision to the data issue. Data users and business stakes are at the center of this approach, which is structured in five stages to resolve complex problems. Thanks to collective intelligence, corporations can constitute and add value to their data heritage, progressively and sustainably, and in this way make their organizations data intelligent.
