The mobility of markets being re-segmented continues, as the appearance of new consumption, distribution and production channels and shifting scopes all combine to change management structures and processes profoundly.
The increasing number of regulatory, financial and sectorial constraints implies an increase in risk control processes.
Lastly, structural pressure on costs and focus on cash flow is nudging organizations towards a strategy of re-deployment and optimization of financial, operational and human means.
The Finance function is constantly changing. Having to comply with ever-more restrictive financial, business and risk norms and regulations, the financial function above all plays a major role in strategic and financial decision-making.
These directions must be adjusted to changing markets, segmented and international, for corporations faced with structural pressure on their margins and costs, their liabilities and their assets.
Corporate general management and business management need to assess process efficiency and the results of their strategies with the aim of optimizing their performance.
Micropole therefore partners general and business management- risk management, HR management, purchasing management- in advising on and implementing enterprise operational and variable compensation management.
Smart BI brings together the concepts which have emerged over the last few years around:
Data visualization, which will enable enhancement of information in a particularly explicit visual mode. Each type of information will be represented in a favored mode: histograms, gauges, mapping, which will make the information much clearer and more readable than in a pivot table-type presentation. Color-coding, animation, navigation and user-friendliness are also elements to be carefully considered to facilitate interpretation and reading of figures.
Data discovery is the capability of drilling down and exploring information from Data and Big Data to extract information which will assist corporate development.
BI self-service aims to give more autonomy to users so that they may build their analysis models easily and by themselves, without telephone/helpline assistance.
For the corporation who knows how to use it, the masses of available data are a real manna which can strengthen your activity, enrich your repositories even reshape your business.
It is however essential to check the potential value of the data gathered before adding it to your business information capital.
From a qualitative and competitive standpoint, a corporation has much to gain from implementation of a Master Data Management solution to optimize its business performance.
Master data input the main corporate processes and applications. If these data are inconsistent or inaccurate, it will forcibly impact the decision-support and operational capabilities.
The prevalence of smartphones and, even more so, that of tablets, constitutes the first true revolution since the coming of the internet.
Mobility today is a real extension of the corporate information system, and is becoming a strategic axis for both general and business management. All corporate applications will eventually have mobile extensions. This opens up new prospects and new usage for these applications.
In the context of its ambitious growth strategy, Barclays, one of the leading foreign banks in France since 1917 and with a headcount of over 1500, entrusted Micropole and its partner SAS with improving efficiency, managing business activity and moderating sales teams thanks to its tools for sharing and following-up on activity and performance indicators.
At stake: a totally refined sales management: the sales representatives (about 300 users) share key business indicators, the consultants follow-up their own activity over the 6 preceding weeks, and the management has an overview of all sales outlets.
«Today, we can clearly see how the overall performance is built on improvements in individual performance. »
Patrick Moyon, Manager Sales tools and Support, Barclays
Bonafontis is the Mexican subsidiary of the Dannone group, dealing with its Beverage business. A leader in the Mexican market, Bonafont wished to streamline and standardize the consolidation of its total income statement and to be able to segment it per brand and per customer.
It had become essential to be able to standardize the Volume / Mix / Price gap analyses. Thanks to the intervention of the Micropole expert teams who operated over all the pre-diagnosis, detailed needs analysis, development, then pre-delivery acceptance stages, the figures gained in consistency and the Cost control teams had more time to analyze them.
«We are truly very satisfied with the quality of our working relationship with Micropole and the project deadlines which were complied with. »
Bruno de Miribel, Financial Director of Danone Waters Latin America.

Created in 2004, GIMS is the Société Générale branch in charge of private banking, asset, securities and brokerage management.
The issue: to have reliable and unified information at budget, monthly income and forecast levels for all units.
“The project centered partly on the modeling of general expenses, explains Karim Hajjaji, Chief Operating Officer of the GIMS branch of the Société Générale. It was modeled by Micropole in a multidimensional base. The model is transposed in a homogenous way, while taking into account the specifics of personnel costs. The emphasis was also placed on the correlation between general expenses and headcount. Moreover, the Run and Change distinction enabled us to build forecasts and to follow-up on them per project. Finally, we standardized the models to make synergy and time gains, and to obtain a unified and shared view.”

The mission of the management assistance tool department is to partner Higher Education, Research and Innovation deciders in their decision-making.
Their stake: to manage repositories so as to be able to propose key indicators to users enabling positioning of a body or a French university in relation to its French and European counterparts in different fields. The solution developed allies an SAS (Statistical Analysis System)-language automatic recoding process and a recoding interface to manually process isolated registrations. Ultimately, this solution is sufficiently generic to be implemented for other areas as well, such as patent filing follow-up.
«Our working relationship with Micropole was as fruitful as it was pleasant. Their staff showed themselves to be particularly attentive to our needs, and it was a reciprocal learning process. This rich human relationship contributed to the success of this strategic project. »
Emmanuel Weisenburger, Manager of the Management Assistance Tool Department - MESR

Micropole partners Veolia Environnement on the re-engineering of its BI reporting.
"Micropole operated in the reporting area (250 recurring users). Their high level of business and technical expertise on SAP BI solutions was of tremendous help to us. The Agora reporting solution enables production of follow-up and analysis reports mainly geared to management to help in the decision-making process. User satisfaction levels are very high due to the making available of a repository of unique management indicators, a common reporting language and a sharing of core reports between different levels of the Veolia organization (business, divisions and group). We really appreciate the methods and quality of work done by Micropole. We communicate frequently and benefit from their advice as well as their professionalism. "
Benjamin Hulot, Reporting Manager at Véolia

The Fnac has two million articles available for sale in its repository, but there is no way to identify the different supports related to the same item.
It’s not unusual, therefore, for an on-line customer to receive an alert concerning a product which has already been bought...but in a different format. Micropole has implemented a methodology based on data quality management, data mining, text mining and technical operational search techniques, implemented with SAS solutions. From now on, every product referenced on the fnac.com site benefits from optimal information quality. The emails sent to customers are better categorized, different versions of the product are available on the site and the browsing is simplified.
“I am fully satisfied to have led this project with Micropole. They proposed a relevant and highly efficient work method, and proved themselves to be solid partners.”
Hervé Hayat, Strategic Study Manager, Fnac
